Shin Hye-sun Describes Byun Yo-han’s Eyes When Acting, “So Uncomfortable That I Want To Clean My Eyes”

On May 14th, the YouTube channel “TEO” uploaded a new video for the “Salon Drip 2” content featuring the guest appearances of Byun Yo-han and Shin Hye-sun.
Byun Yo-han and Shin Hye-sun worked together 7 years ago in the 2017 movie “A Day” and they recently reunited in the drama “Following”. Shin Hye-sun shared, “He takes good care of people around. He contacted me a lot and we met very often”.

In the new drama “Following”, Byun Yo-han plays Goo Jung-tae, a real estate agent who likes to observe other people. When asked what he had prepared for his character, the actor said, “I wondered what expressions I should make as a person who likes to observe. It requires acting techniques”, adding “To be honest, I can’t make eye contact for a long time when talking to others. I keep looking here and there”.
The actor continued, “Goo Jung-tae looks at people for a longer time and he doesn’t blink, so that people won’t know what he’s thinking”, adding that he tried to act with the gaze when observing objects.

The MC also asked Shin Hye-sun’s feelings from the point of view of the person who faced Goo Jung-tae in the drama. Shin Hye-sun said, “I hate it. I don’t like it at all. When I look into his eyes, his double eyelids become so clear. Every time I look at him, I think his eyes are pretty. But since it’s not a melodrama, they give me such a creepy and uncomfortable feeling that I want to go home and clean my eyes”, drawing laughter.
Hearing that, Byun Yo-han commented, “After acting those scenes, I also went home and washed my eyes with cleanser”, adding “During the filming, I even asked the director, ‘Can you film the scene where I clean my eyes?’, and we actually shot it. There’s a scene where Goo Jung-tae cleans his eyes”
